Forest of Dean-Focused Political Strategies

In today's divisive and ideologically led political climate, it's becoming increasingly important to focus on the needs and concerns of our local communities. That's why The Progressive Independents are proud to offer a non-partisan approach to politics, putting the well-being of our district and its residents above any party ideology. We understand that our district is made up of diverse individuals with different backgrounds, beliefs, and values.

As true Progressive Independents we also believe that although the Climate Emergency needs addressing , it needs addressing in a pragmatic and level headed way. 

Yes " every little helps" but the issues around climate are not the "fault" of Forest of Dean residents. It is only right that the Forest of Dean does its bit but The Forest of Dean cannot save the world on its own. It is not a play thingfor well meaning but blinkered and extreme local politicians to use as a weapon in some climate war.

We are here for doing our bit but also for people to find a well paid job or an affordable home, or even decide for themselves what food they wish to eat.

As a society, we have become increasingly polarized when it comes to politics. The divide between left and right has grown deeper and more entrenched, and it seems like every issue is viewed through a partisan lens. Add to this dangerous mix the Enviromental Groups such as the Greens who are unable to give the needs of the district a pragmatic or balanced approach and we see the difficulties we face. Party ideology so often takes precedence over the needs and concerns of our communities. But there is a growing movement that seeks to change this narrative – the Progressive Independents.
