Today Gloucestershire's County Council cabinet will be deciding to approve a letter to the government that requests a postponement of the county council elections in May so they can rush ahead to securing a devolution deal that doesn't exist.

The Future of our district, our parishes and towns and our county is at stake.

It will take at least 3 years to reorganise Councils, 4 to ensure everything is in place

Every Councillor , no matter what political allegience , has a duty and a right to scrutinise and examine every step towards any Reform of Local Government.

The Public have a right to have an input into any future reform

The Public have a right to express their views at the ballot box

Throughout Britain County Councils are the level of local Government that have continually failed the public, with failings on our roads, our social care, and a lack of local investment in schools and youth facilities.

The Public must have a say on who leads the reform of councils that provide them with crucial services

This postponement is about protecting failed councilors' positions for one last payday and must not be permitted
